The Northern Youths Initiative for Information Technology Development (NYIFITD) is a non-governmental, non-profit, and community-based organisation established to promote digital inclusion, technological innovation, and socio-economic empowerment among young people across Northern Nigeria. Headquartered in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory, NYIFITD is committed to bridging the digital divide by equipping youths, educators, and communities with the knowledge, skills, and technological resources required to thrive in the twenty-first-century digital economy.
Registered in Nigeria as an Incorporated Trustee on 2 October 2018, the organisation operates from No. 1 ICAN Building, Wuse II, Abuja. NYIFITD was founded in response to the growing need for accessible and affordable information and communication technology (ICT) infrastructure, digital literacy, and innovation-driven solutions in underserved communities across Northern Nigeria.
Digital Skills Development: The organisation provides practical training programmes in essential digital competencies, including computer literacy, coding, software applications, cybersecurity awareness, digital marketing, data analysis, and emerging technologies. These initiatives are designed to enhance youth employability and prepare participants for opportunities within the digital economy.

Educational Technology Support: The initiative partners with educational institutions to integrate technology into teaching and learning. Through teacher training programmes and educational technology interventions, NYIFITD helps schools create modern, technology-enabled learning environments.
Innovation and Entrepreneurship: NYIFITD encourages creativity and innovation among young people by supporting startup initiatives, promoting digital entrepreneurship, and facilitating access to mentorship opportunities and innovation ecosystems.
Advocacy and Policy Engagement: The organisation advocates for policies and programmes that promote equitable access to technology, digital literacy, and meaningful youth participation in Nigeria's digital transformation agenda.
